(Genesis 6:5-8)
The world was filled with evil. The thoughts of man’s heart were only wicked, and God was grieved. He determined to destroy the earth, yet amidst the judgment, Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.
This is the picture of salvation. Everyone outside the ark perished, whether they were good or evil, strong or weak, moral or corrupt. Their fate was the same. Salvation was not about effort or righteousness; it was about entering the ark.
Are You Inside or Outside?
Many today try to live good lives, attend church, and do righteous works, but the real question is not how good you are. The question is, are you inside Jesus or outside of Him?
No matter how hard I tried, I was outside of Jesus. I prayed, I fasted, I served in church, but I was still trying to stand before God through my own works. But when I realized my efforts were useless, I gave up. I surrendered. And that’s when I entered into Jesus.
The moment I belonged to Him, Jesus defeated sin, death, and destruction inside of me. I no longer had to fight sin on my own. He fought for me.
Stop Struggling, Take Refuge in Jesus
Many fall into the trap of trying to live righteously by their own strength. They say, “This time, I won’t sin!” Yet they fail again.
But salvation is not about avoiding sin, it’s about taking refuge in Jesus. Just as Noah didn’t survive the flood by swimming but by entering the ark, we are saved by resting in Christ.
Even though we sin, our sin is no longer our problem. It is His. The curse that should have come upon us, He has taken. Our burden, He has carried. When we enter into Jesus, we enter into grace.
The Two Genealogies, Adam or Jesus?
There are only two genealogies in the Bible: the lineage of Adam and the lineage of Christ. Those in Adam suffer sin, death, and condemnation. Those in Christ are covered by grace.
The only question is, where do you belong? Have you entered Jesus?
Noah didn’t escape judgment by being better than others, he was saved because he received grace. And that same grace is available today for anyone who enters Jesus.
Will you come inside?
